With 59 days left to Arrow Season 5, we're taking a look at another classic comic book cover.

Every year on GreenArrowTV’s Twitter feed and Facebook page, we’d count down to the new season’s premiere with a classic Green Arrow-related comic book cover. After all, it was the comic books that inspired the TV series to begin with.

Since there had sometimes been confusion about the covers without any context, this year we’re going to describe the comic book covers that we are showing. The issue numbers on the comics will correspond to the number of days left before Season 5 begins. For example, there are 59 days left until Arrow Season 5, considering The CW has announced an October 5 premiere date.

Here’s today’s entry.

Green Arrow #59

Green Arrow #59 is another cover that shows just how great Mike Grell’s work on the character and the series were. His Oliver Queen and Dinah Lance were not young people, but they still had an attractive quality and realistic proportions. This specific cover is one of Grell’s best.

(And for those who say “GATV is biased for running Black Canary covers!” – don’t worry, once we get around 40 days you’ll get some things you’ll like, too.)
