GreenArrowTV counts down to the premiere of Arrow Season 5 with a look at Green Arrow #110. Season 5 Cover Countdown: Green Arrow #110

Every year on GreenArrowTV’s Twitter feed and Facebook page, we’d count down to the new season’s premiere with a classic Green Arrow-related comic book cover. After all, it was the comic books that inspired this series to begin with.

Sometimes, there had been confusion. “What does this have to do with Arrow the TV show?” Other times, the covers were provided without any context.

For the Season 5 countdown, we’re going to do something a little different. Every day, we’ll spotlight a different comic book cover and tell you a little bit about the comic within. The issue numbers on the comics will correspond to the number of days left before Season 5 begins. For example, there are 110 days left until Arrow Season 5, considering The CW just announced an October 5 premiere date.

So, let’s get started, shall we?

Green Arrow #110

The cover to Green Arrow #110 from 1996 was a tribute itself to the iconic Green Lantern/Green Arrow series which featured Oliver Queen as Green Arrow and Hal Jordan as Lantern. Here, the cover spotlights another generation, as Oliver was dead and replaced by his son, Connor Hawke, and Hal Jordan went crazy and became the villain Parallax and was replaced by newcomer Kyle Rayner. Confusing, right? The character Connor Hawke appeared in the Legends of Tomorrow episode “Star City 2046” where he was, in the DC TV universe, the son of John Diggle.

110 days are left to the Arrow season premiere – be sure to come back daily for more countdown posts!
