After the explosive fifth season finale of Arrow, we’re left wondering what happens next… but at this weekend’s Heroes & Villains Fan Fest in London, we at least got an idea from Stephen Amell about what the theme of the season will be.

“The theme of Season 5 was legacy,” Stephen said during a panel at the convention. “From what I understand, the theme of Season 6 is family.”

The future of Oliver Queen’s “family” is currently in question with the fates of many being left up in the air. Obviously, Oliver’s son William now knows who his father may be, and William’s mother Samantha is one of those in danger at the end of the season. There is also the “family” that is Team Arrow, especially when it comes to the folks like Felicity and Diggle who have been there with Oliver from the beginning, and assuming Black Siren and Quentin Lance both make it out alive, the Lance family dynamic is also due for some examination. Thea will probably also face some introspection, as the father she rejected is no longer a part of her life. And, again assuming Arrow can get Manu Bennett and Deathstroke back, Slade Wilson seeking out his son Joe will likely make for an interesting story that ties into the notion of family.

Arrow Season 6 airs this Fall in a new time slot of Thursdays at 9PM. If we were betting people we’d predict that the premiere will air somewhere around October 5 or 12, unless The CW goes earlier or later than they usually do. Season premiere dates generally are announced in July.
