Will Oliver be successful in his campaign for Mayor?

queenposter1DEREK: I hope so, actually, if anything because it’s an easy way to keep the show fresh. Arrow has worked best when it doesn’t immediately go back to the status quo, and to force Oliver to commit to being both a political figure and secret vigilante would definitely be a unique direction.

MATT: I think so, yeah. There’s a great throughline to play with the mayor of a major metropolis also being a costumed hero. It was covered ground in the comics but it’s great storytelling soil.

CRAIG: Maybe? It would add a new wrinkle to the story, and that could be fun. I think if he does become Mayor, though, his secret identity will be outed to Star City somehow along the way.

STEPHANIE: As long as he doesn’t die like every other mayor that Starling City has ever had, I’m not leaning one way or the other. It would be interesting to see him have an actual job and use his public position to further his vigilante work and vice versa, but I’m concerned it’s going to lead to another storyline about an anti-vigilante movement, and I’m tired of that story across the board.
