Darkness on the Edge of TownEven before tonight’s season finale of Arrow hits the air, the questions have already begun — “when is Season 2?”

The truth of the matter is: We don’t know yet.

If The CW follows the pattern of recent years, the show will probably return for a second season in early October; possibly even late September. The network usually makes the announcement in late June or early July. Last year, the October 10 start date for Arrow Season 1 was not announced until June 28, 2012.

UPDATE: The CW, at their 2013 Upfronts announcements in New York City in May, said that the new season will start in October. Now, that could change, but that’s how it is looking right now.

Arrow will stay on Wednesdays at 8PM. We’re hoping The Tomorrow People — starring Stephen Amell’s cousin, Robbie, and from Arrow executive producer Greg Berlanti  — might be able to join Arrow on Wednesday nights. (Yes, that’s exactly what happened. Are you following @TomorrowTV on Twitter yet?)

That does mean somewhere around four months of no new Arrow. Thankfully, the DVD is already available to pre-order, as is the Blu-ray, though those, too, are a few months away. For more instant gratification, the entire series is available on iTunes or Amazon Unbox. The Arrow digital comics should still be going, for a while, at least. And, if you’re like me, you might even spend some of this summer playing Injustice for your Arrow fix.

Additionally… just because the season is over, it does not mean GreenArrowTV will remain dormant over the summer. Like the “KryptonSite Awards” that we’d do every year for Smallville, we’re doing “GreenArrowTV Awards” to give credit to the best and worst parts of Season 1. We’ll also continue to update the @GreenArrowTV Twitter. Before you know it, it’ll be Comic-Con time, and we’ll have some new photos, clips, and interviews going on. It may be a break, but it won’t fail this city. Thanks for watching the show & reading this site throughout Season 1!
