He Is Wild Dog: Rick Gonzalez Is Arrow’s New Vigilante

We were right: The new vigilante for Arrow Season 5 is indeed the character “Wild Dog.” No relation to “Wildcat.” Today, EW confirmed that Rick Gonzalez (Reaper) has been cast as the vigilante “whose reckless and cocksure nature prompts Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) to take him under his wing.” EW notes that he will be in “multiple episodes” starting with the Season 5 premiere.

In the comics, Wild Dog wore a hockey mask much like Stephen Amell’s TMNT 2 character Casey Jones. Hopefully we’ll see that mask as well as the iconic T-shirt for Wild Dog, provided it is organic for the show, of course.

Interesting trivia: Arrow Executive Prouducer Marc Guggenheim’s wife Tara Butters was a co-creator on Reaper which featured Rick among the cast. We still miss Reaper. A lot.
