Arrow “Unchained” Ratings Report

Why is it when an episode of Arrow is quite good, the ratings actually go down?

In any event, initial overnight ratings numbers for the February 3 episode of Arrow, “Unchained,” are in, and the show had a 0.9/3 in the Ages 18-49 demo and 2.49 million viewers. It still should end up being one of The CW’s highest rated shows for the week, though, and usually ratings go up in the final tally.
