Stephen Amell teases a fight scene for Felicity and a "bold" Arrow Season 7. Arrow: Stephen Amell On Felicity’s Fight Scene & “Bold” Season 7

Arrow Season 7 is only a few weeks away, and last week we had the opportunity to talk to Stephen Amell for some hints about what’s coming up in the seventh season. We’ll be rolling out portions between now and the October 15 season premiere.

One of several topics we discussed was the online praise that Amell had for Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity) and what she is doing in the season premiere which is called “Inmate 4587.”

“She has a kick-ass action scene that I know specifically that James Bamford let her go crazy [with], in this action scene with a stunt performer,” Stephen expanded. “When I was watching it, it’s actually happening alongside another action scene, and I was actually kind of jealous with how visceral and aggressive Emily’s scene was.”

Stephen also had kind words for his co-star in a dramatic scene that the two share.

“I think people have seen the photos of when we get the chance to interact, and I just thought her performance in that scene was up there or even better than anything else that she has ever done on the show,” Amell teased.

Ultimately, Stephen Amell has high praise for what he’s seeing from Season 7 so far.

“The season feels very bold,” he said. “To get new stuff to do with the character that you’ve been playing for seven seasons now, it’s not the easiest thing to pull off, so to be in prison and to be isolated from everyone else, and to have all of these new scene partners and a new dynamic about my personality and the way that [Oliver] is feeling and the way that he’s dealing with things, it’s just a lot of fun.”

Stay tuned to GreenArrowTV and follow us on Twitter and/or Facebook for updates on when we will be posting more from the Amell interview! Arrow Season 7 premieres October 15 on The CW; photos from the season premiere can be found below.

I am so pumped for Felicity’s scenes, especially the fight scene. I’ve never wanted or needed Felicity to become a mask but some form of self defence seems obvious with what they do. So i’m excited to see Felicity fight back and do it in her own way!

And while i’m not convinced keeping Oliver in prison for so long is the best idea, I must admit it is shaking things up!

Emily is incredibly athletic in real life, It almost feels like a waste of skill a times so I’m glad they found a way to incoorporate, and finally showcase a bit of that scrappy side of Felicity Smoak. Badass since always.

You’re welcome Melissa. I knew it was something Stephen had commented on a little bit, so I knew it was something he was passionate and happy about. The intention of interviews, to me, is to get people excited while informing them – so if it worked out that way, then it’s great.

I am excited to see Felicity fighting back. Emily is very athletic & fit. I always thought when it was just ridiculous of the things they do that they would never train her in some form of self defense. It’s good to see not only is she the brains, but using some brawn while not wearing a mask which seems to be important to some.

It took being in wit sec to justify a Felicity fight scene but I’m glad we’re finally getting one. She’s one of the fittest of the Arrowverse stars so I’m excited to see what she comes up with.

So excited for Felicity and for Emily because that girl works so hard! Excited for Oliver and the prison storyline. One of my fav shows is Prison Break so it’s nice that they are doing this storyline. I don’t like how they got there but might as well embrace it lol

Nobody cares about Felicity. She’s supposed to be in hiding and there she is visiting him in prison? Can we just kill her off already? The show is horrible because they keep shoving Felicity and olicity down our throats! Ugh!
