The 100th episode of Arrow is only three days away, but of course the crossover action begins with the November 28 episode of Supergirl. A few weeks ago, we visited Vancouver for the 100th Episode “Green Carpet” celebration of Arrow, where we spoke with many actors, including the very talented Paul Blackthorne who plays Quentin Lance on the series.

You can see the other interviews posted so far here, and more will be posted to our YouTube channel within the coming days leading to Wednesday… but here’s Mr. Blackthorne! If reading text is more your thing, you can find it underneath this video.

GREENARROWTV’s CRAIG BYRNE: Did you ever think that Quentin Lance would make it to Episode 100 of Arrow?

PAUL BLACKTHORNE: Did anybody think anybody would make it to Episode 100?

You know, these shows start off as they do; hoping for the best. It doesn’t always happen, but we somehow remarkably made it this far, and we’re very grateful for it. We appreciate it.

Heir to the DemonSo we’ve got Katie Cassidy coming back to the world in some way…

Yeah.

Is Quentin going to get used to his daughters just coming back, dying, coming back again?

Probably. It’s like “oh, you’re back, that’s good. No, you’re dead, but let’s not worry about it.” Yeah. We’ll see if they have any interaction.

SmoaknlanceWill we ever see him with Donna Smoak again?

I don’t know.

How are you enjoying playing Deputy Mayor in Season 5?

It’s been very interesting, because obviously it’s such a difficult situation, given that he is struggling with his demons, and yet, somebody’s having faith in him. Oliver Queen and Thea Queen. So, he’s wanting to do what he can for them, but struggling so much with where he’s at in his own life. That’s causing conflict and neuroses.

ar423b_0303bGetting to 100 episodes, did you ever think that Oliver Queen would be the person that he relied on?

I didn’t see that coming! But that’s Arrow. You never know what’s around the corner, right?

Is there a part of Quentin that wishes Sara would just come back and stay this time period?

Yes, a whole big part of him, yeah. Of course.

UnthinkableIs any of that touched upon in the crossover?

[Smiles] No.

What can you say about Quentin’s role in the crossover?

Well, he’s there and thereabouts, in the alien space confusion, and it’s interesting for him to reconcile his role in all that world as well. Forever fascinating, the world of Arrow.

Did you ever think that Arrow would start this whole trend of four different shows now?

No, of course not. No one could see that coming. Maybe some of these guys did, but I didn’t!

Our thanks, as always, to Paul Blackthorne for being such a gentleman who is doing a lot to help this world when he’s not busy playing Quentin Lance.
