We don’t generally cover video games around these parts, but Arrow has become so successful of an adaptation that it’s starting to cross over into other media. With the latest, our friends over at SuperHeroHype report that our fave version of the Emerald Archer is putting in an appearance in the newest LEGO Batman video game.
Over the weekend at New York Comic Con, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games held a panel to discuss their upcoming release LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. The second game in the series brought in a number of DC characters outside of the Batman mythos, and the third looks to feature an even more impressive roster and expand environments to a wide variety of locations throughout the DCU.
Additional downloadable content (DLC) will be available for purchase to expand the game and playable characters. SuperHeroHype reports from the panel that one of the DLC packs will feature an Arrow theme.
Among the characters available in the pack will be Oliver Queen as the Arrow, John Diggle, Felicity Smoak, Sara Lance as the Canary, Helena Bertinelli as the Huntress, Roy Harper, Slade Wilson, and Malcolm Merlyn. An Arrow-specific level and vehicles are also included. Per GameInformer, Stephen Amell will be providing the voice for the game’s comic-based Green Arrow, which means we’re likely to hear him also voicing his minifig video game counterpart.
This, of course, isn’t the first time Arrow has been featured in a game. A skin of the show’s version was available for download for the Green Arrow character in last year’s Injustice: Gods Among Us fighting game. Amell also voiced a few lines for the character in the game.
LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham will be available on multiple platforms on November 11, 2014. For your convenience, click below to pre-order your copy of the game at Amazon.com and help support this site at the same time. Release date for the Arrow DLC has not yet been announced.
