Team GATV Roundtable: Looking Forward To Season 4.5 Team GATV Roundtable: Looking Forward To Season 4.5
The GreenArrowTV team looks forward to the second half of Arrow Season 4 in a new roundtable. Team GATV Roundtable: Looking Forward To Season 4.5

What are your biggest hopes for the second half of Season 4?

STEPHANIE: I just hope that there’s no drama for the sake of drama, like Oliver not telling Felicity about William for a fuzzy reason.

Black Canary Katie CassidyCRAIG: I’d like to see the flashback story getting more exciting or interesting. Continued action in the battle vs. H.I.V.E. front. Honesty about the William thing between Oliver and Felicity. Some Black Canary action. Resolution for Thea’s bloodlust. Continued survival for Quentin Lance. Really, just more world building in this show that we all tune in to watch every Wednesday night.

MATT: With the universe building out of the way, it’s time to focus on what the Project Genesis threat actually is, even if the prospect of yet another large-scale terrorist attack on Star City is a bit tiresome. With magic established, I’d like to see them really explore it and present it as a very human challenge for Team Arrow to get past. Aside from Thea’s interesting immunity due to the Lazarus Pit, that everyone is in a world over their heads makes for a fascinating sandbox.

DEREK: I’m interested to see if they keep magic somewhat subdued or if they go crazy with it. Obviously I don’t want to see Arrow try to go full-on Charmed or something, but I could see it starting to take a Buffy approach — using magic and demonic forces to make the heroes think smarter and dig deeper into themselves, instead of just punching everything. A magical threat to the city for the finale will already be different than yet another terrorist attack, so I expect they’ll use that to their advantage.

The second half of Arrow seasons have always had stronger runs than their first halves, and season 4 has enough things bubbling that the second half can easily lay on the gas. A lot can go wrong, sure, but so many things have been done right that I’m banking on a rousing conclusion.
