Parts Of Arrow To Shoot At Smallville’s “Luthor Mansion”

Craig Byrne March 13, 2012 4

As if a home base at the familiar Smallville studio wasn’t enough, the new Oliver Queen will be shooting at another Smallville stomping ground – Hatley Castle, better known to fans of the Superman series as “Luthor Mansion.”

Canada.com reports that Arrow will be shooting at the castle within Royal Roads University for two days of filming. We’re not sure if the filming will take place on the interiors, or on the grounds — so who knows if the familiar outdoor visage of the mansion will be seen. (Green Arrow and Lex Luthor aren’t the only comic book characters who hang out there — the castle was also used for Xavier’s mansion in the X-Men films). We also can’t tell you what the mansion will be used for, because we actually don’t know — if anyone has tips, please e-mail us.

Perhaps some X-Men castle scenes were filmed in Ontario as you say, but Hatley Castle is without a doubt clearly shown in the X-Men films.

Well if you want to be technical, Sheila. The first film was the only time the Xaviar mansion was made up of Parkwood Estates and Casa Loma. The second and third films used the same on as Smallville’s Luthor Mansion while First Class used yet another one so really the location has been the Xavier school for the longest period of time covering two films rather than just one.
